Take the M6 to Junction 36 - A591 Kendal . Follow this road past Kendal to Windermere . Here continue to follow the A591 for another 4 miles to Ambleside .

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

There are regular train services to Windermere . There are some direct services from Manchester Airport otherwise you change at Oxenholme ( on the West Coast Main Line ) . From Windermere Station buses and taxis depart for Ambleside .
